Bus Stop 1970s vintage cotton halter shirt dress / 1940s / pockets / Lee Bender
Absolutely stunning early 70s floaty cotton shirt dress by Lee Bender for Bus Stop.
This is a perfect example of the label being very heavily influenced by the 1940s fashions and using this in their late 60s and early 70s designs.
The dress features very large long collars with a v shape front. There are 6 huge lilac blue square buttons for a button through look. The bust line is gathered for structure on each side and the waist is completely fitted with the skirt flaring out flatteringly from the there..
A huge fold over pocket features at each side to complete the design.

>>>Bus Stop was started by Lee Bender along with her husband Cecil in the late 1960s. They had previously produced clothing under their 'Lee Cecil' label earlier in the 1960s, and went on to open the first Bus Stop shop in 1969 in Kensington's fashionable Church Street, right next door to the iconic Biba.
The Bus Stop name was chosen as it represented something identifiably British, and the red interior of the shop continued this theme based on the colour of telephone kiosks, post boxes and London buses.>>>

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The fabric is pristine, buttons are shiny and scratch free and the label with gold thread is perfect. Seems totally unworn.
