1930s vintage panne velvet & satin gown / Deco / Heart applique / movie star / Glamour
Gorgeous thirties panne velvet gown with heart appliqué!
Where to start with this one? This gown is absolute eye candy to say the least...sleek, slinky and glamorous, this pink blush velvet dress is very special!
The dress has three cut out circle features right at the front with a wavy shape of an edge all around the neck and fitted sleeves which have pointy edging at the hand..(see pics).
The body is also fitted to the waist and is shaped with the skirt being a separate piece that is added on with a diamond shape seam..see pics...this makes for a very flattering waistline..there are two large purple satin heart appliqués which i assume must have been added at a later date (1960s? 70s?)
The design feature though, that finishes this stunning number off perfectly is the back....the same wavy edging goes all the way around and shapes a deep v-back..very sexy and perfect for this piece.
There is great weight to the fabric which shows how well made and of what great quality pieces from the golden era were..
This piece is absolutely stunning and definitely among the nicest vintage I have ever come across...not much needed in terms of accessories..simple make up with a knotty bun and some slinky gold heels will look perfect.
